It's Friday!
It's a family weekend!!
We have lots of fun things planned!
I.am.so.psyched because we have decided to attend the Wheel of Fortune auditions tomorrow!!!
It's going to be a blast regardless if we get picked or not.

On the way to school this morning, Preston said, "Mom, did you know that the Indian Ocean did not have a tsunami warning system in 2004?"
Then Carter chimed in..."Ya, and did you know, Mom, that Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president, and he liked to kill turkeys?"
Greatness.

"The Teenager" came into my bathroom this morning while I was getting ready and asked me to sign his class selection page for next year...8th grade...My first born will be in 8th grade. That's one more year until high school, 2.5 years until a driver's license, 5 years until he's out of the house and in college. All of that flashed through my mind as I signed the blue piece of cardstock.
How did we get here so fast?

I saw this idea for family conversation time during dinner, and thought I'd pass it on.
We tried it out last night, and it was fun to hear about what's going on in those little minds. Ryan and I are realizing more and more the importance of sitting down at the dinner table together as a family every night and talking with the boys about their day...so important.

aww, I know, it go's way to fast! we have 4 girls~ 8, twins are 15 and oldest will be 17 in MAY! HOW??? She just got her permit so every morning, guess what I awake to? Her face inches from mine saying" Mom, do you have an errands to run today???"... Now, we are on the fast track. car, job, college... Bye Bye. Im not ready. But, this season is soooo special to. I get to see them turning into the young women that God designed them to be!!! Boys mistify me, lol! Cute blog. :) xoxo LA

time does pass toooo quickly. i am amazed and now understand all of the comments 'old folks' used to say to me growing up... 'i remember you when you were *this* high!' haha

Love the questions at dinner time. We eat dinner together as a fam every chance we get!
We have a question of the day at dinner time. Every week, we have Friday dinner night, and we all take turns choosing the restaurant. The rest of the week, whoever gets Family Dinner Night choice that week is responsible for coming up with a question of the day that everyone gets to answer each night at dinner. We've had some really fun responses and some pretty creative questions throughout the years. I like that when, for example, it's my son's week to make up all the questions of the day, the questions he comes up with give us a little insight into what's important to him that week. The questions are often as telling as the answers everyone gives.
