So...we're now 17 days out from the moving company pulling up in our driveway, stepping out of the cab of their truck, ready to haul away all of our worldly possessions loaded into the metal container at the rear of their vehicle. The question is, where will they drop it off? I sure would like to know. We saw another house last night in a great neighborhood, a beautiful neighborhood, but the house needs some updating which isn't a huge concern since we're only leasing for a year. It's just hard to swallow shelling out the equivalent of a mortgage payment for something we're not in love with. Such is life in a rental I suppose.
The monumental task of packing will commence this weekend, and I am dreading the onset. Thank goodness for Ryan's willingness to participate because I have packed up a few homes all.by.myself. in the past, and it isn't fun...especially when I had toddlers running around pulling things out of the boxes as fast as I could get them filled up.
I do have to admit the thought of packing up our home makes me a little sad. I get so attached to houses because of all of life's events that have taken place while inside its walls. For instance, this is the first home Ryan and I bought together. We searched for it as a married couple, made it a home for our blended family, decorated it together to reflect our our taste, learned to cope with the challenges of bringing a blended family together, loved each other more than the day before, laughed and cried....sometimes at the same time...so many great memories will be packed up with this home.

I know exactly how you feel. Trey and I moved out of our very first home last year. We had been there for 10 years and I was sad to leave all of the memories behind, but.....moving on is part of life and many more great memories await y'all!

I feel the same way about houses! I cried when we moved out of our first house!! I think you should post some pictures of your house before you un-do everything. Oh, and YAY for hubbies who help with stuff like this!!! :-)
I'm right there with you. Leaving our first was very difficult b/c we built it. Colorado was hard b/c 2 kids learned to walk in that house. Each of them have their special memories.......each has its own place in my heart. But, life goes on and you'll create another beautiful home somewhere soon enough!
Moving. Such a pain! It's sad leaving your home, and I do have to say, it's taken me awhile to not miss our old house! But I absolutely love it now and we're making wonderful new memories in our new one! Just like you guys will!!
Good luck finding the perfect home! It will be so fun to look and see what is available (I still go to open houses to get ideas) and since you have plenty of time, you will end up finding "the one"
