Long Story Short

Last week one of my best friend's daughter, Kylee,
who was also my student 2 years ago, collapsed while at school.
Two teachers/coaches took immediate action.
One performed CPR to no avail,
and the other quickly utilized the Automated External Defibrillator, or AED,
and after two shocks, Kylee's heart began to beat again.
Every parent's nightmare is to lose their child,
and Mike and Sheryl almost experienced it first hand.
I cannot even imagine.
After we dropped Ryan off at the airport today,
the boys and I went to visit Kylee,
who is having a Pacemaker placed in her heart tomorrow morning.
A Pacemaker.
At 12 years old.
Such a brave and precious little girl.

Long story short, hug your babies, appreciate every day and say a little prayer for Kylee.
Thank you, friends.

  1. Oh my gosh, I gasped twice while reading. That is crazy! I am so glad my district makes us get certified and we practice using the AED. Thank goodness she is alright. I will keep her and her family in my thoughts.

  4. Just said a little prayer for her. Hoping surgery goes well. Your Halloween decor is fab. You should sell it on Etsy. Like your gallery wall/subway art, too.
