New York Family Vacation 2009 {Part Six}

The Final Chapter...

Have you ever opened a book to read the final chapter and not wanted to continue because that would mean you're done, it's over, the journey, the adventure, the fantasy, the fun is over...That's how I feel writing this post! But...the show must go on, so here it is!

As exhausted as we were the day after returning from the city, we were determined to take the kids out for one more day in "real" snow!  We decided snow tubing was the perfect solution, but before we loaded up the car, the boys took a trip outside on the deck to collect some giant icicles!

Austin found a huge block! Isn't it funny how exciting this was for these boys since they have grown up down south having never seen these on their own houses!

Next stop...snow tubing!!!
You could do one of two things:
Carry your tube up the hill....

Or take the lift!

Ryan helping Carter get ready to go!

There he goes!

Brothers and best friends! They are always right by each other's side!

Taking a break!

Back up the hill =)

It was absolutely FREEZING!!! Windy, frigid, snowing...but it was a BLAST!!

Back at the Soladay compound!
Once we returned home, Carol brought out the snacks, and the game came on! What game you ask? The Liberty Bowl, of course! The Razorbacks played East Carolina, and although they played a poor game, they were able to pull out a win...like the HOGS do!!  Preston and Austin are HUGE football fans...spitting out stats, calling plays, reciting player background info, etc...What is it about boys? Are they BORN with a gene programmed with this ability?

The watching party...by the way, that's root beer in Austin's hand!

The score!! Go Hogs!

I have no clue where these boys get their energy, but after the game, they wanted to go BACK OUT in the snow! The sun had gone down, but since it was our final night, we decided to let them go for it! I'm so glad we did because they will never forget it!

Preston trying his hardest to pull Austin over the hump!

The boys LOVED shoveling the snow!

So sweet...

Snow angels!

They kept coming to the back door saying, "Come look at our snow angels!"

Back inside! Look at their cheeks!

Hot chocolate time!

The pair by the fire...love both of them!

Pop and Grnadma's dog, Annie...their baby!

The boys eating shrimp cocktail down in the basement! They loved it down there...go figure!
Good night!

The next morning...
Headed to the airport...:(

Dear Ed & Carol,

Where do I begin? This was the most incredible vacation. The boys reference some experience from our adventure on a daily basis. The memories created during the six days we spent together will never be forgotten. The thought put into every detail, making sure everyone had what they needed, making sure everyone felt comfortable, making sure everyone had a great time will forever be remembered and appreciated beyond anything words could describe. You have both made my boys feel just as important and loved as Trysten, and I will be forever grateful for this. You have welcomed me as well and made me feel loved...so loved...I love you both, and will never forget our vacation of a lifetime!

Allison
