I'm a Dork, and I Made a Nailhead Pumpkin...All in One Post

You like that title?
I'm running out of creativity tonight, friends.
I have been out.of.control. with projects.
Ryan comes home from work, and just looks at the mess in the kitchen
and shakes his head.
"What are you making now, Mama?"
He loves it.
Don't try to deny it, Mr. Soladay.
I know you're reading this.
Hubby actually had his tech guy at work
unblock the blog on his office
computer so he can read daily.
He's a good man.

Remember my post where I included the tidbit
about my favorite children's author
visiting Trysten's school and how I had
Copy Stepmom duty that day?
I saw her.
Granted it was from outside the library windows,
but I saw her.
I was in the same building
as Patricia Polacco.
I whipped out my iPhone to snap a picture and suddenly felt like a stalker.
See:
You cannot even see her because I was trying to take the pic
so fast in order to prevent anyone from noticing me.
But....as soon as I heard the click of my camera,
2 teachers were walking towards me, smiling,
and I said, "I feel like the biggest dork right now."
One teacher said, "Are you a groupie too!"
We all laughed, and they tried to convince me to go inside the library and meet
her once she was done reading to the kids.
I chickened out.
I will forever kick myself for it.
Life goes on.

In between coats of paint drying on another project I worked on today,
I made a nailhead pumpkin:
You likey?

Cute pumpkin, but shame on you! I can't even believe you chickened out. I feel like chewing you out, but I like you. That woman is genius. Brilliant. I would have raced to the library to hear what she was saying. Man! That is so awesome that she was at the school.
