Lots going on here lately.
Some I will share today,
and some I will share in the next few weeks.
Don't want to let the cat out of the bag completely, you know.
Here's a brief update of what's been going on in
Casa de Soladay.
* First off:
This time next week,
we will be on Royal Caribbean's
Voyager of the Sea
with my parents, my sister, her hubby and their 2 boys,
and my brother, his wife and their 3 girls.
My parents are graciously treating us to the ultimate
spring break getaway!
We're stopping in Jamaica, Cozumel and the Grand Cayman Islands.
Awesome.
Talk about perfect timing for a change in scenery.
Most of this week will be spent packing for 4 kids,
picking up last minute essentials etc.
Can't wait!
* The first annual
Ed Soladay Golf Tribute
has officially been scheduled for
July 11, 2011
at Gentle Creek Golf Club in Prosper.
This is something that Ryan and I came up with almost simultaneously
and finally seeing it down on the calendar feels great.
I have a hella lot of work cut out for me over the next 4 months putting it all together,
but I am so excited to do something to honor Ed.
Ryan and I met with the head pro at the club last Friday,
and everyone there is looking forward to the event in remembrance of one of their dearest members.
By the way, I signed up for a 3 day ladies golf clinic at the club taking place in April.
Can't wait to finally join in on all the golf hoopla!
* Carter has been writing little notes to Ed...AKA "Pop"...and putting them in a small container.
Today I found his newest one.
Sweet boy...
* Ryan and I spent Valentines and my birthday apart
since I was in New York,
but Ryan made up for it in a big way.
Last Saturday he scheduled us a 3 hour couples massage
complete with a full body massage, foot/back scrub and facials.
Awesome.
We rounded out the night with sushi at RA, our new place.
He never disappoints.
By the way, I turned 37.
Really? 37?
How did that happen?
In all honesty, I don't mind my age.
I am so much more comfortable with myself at this age.
I am such a different person than even in my early 30's.
You learn so much in your 30's.
I sure did.
My most life-changing descisions were made after turning 30.
After gaining a backbone, self respect, dignity and deciding not to settle.
Feels good.
* I recently helped Austin with his 4 year high school plan.
WTH?
Again...how did THAT happen?!
I seriously do NOT know how we got here so fast.
I'm not ready.
He THINKS he is.
Friends, it goes by so fast.
That's it for now.
Busy week ahead.
Have a great one!

Just when you think you've seen the most beautiful beaches in the world, you visit Grand Cayman and every thing changes. You'll see! Sooooo pretty!
Have fun!
What the F, a high school plan? I am about to be 37 and I am not ready for that so I can't even imagine how you are feeling.
I love the golf tourny idea. Perfect. I always wanted to do a scholarship in my dad's honor but the thought of organizing this seems overwhelming. Good for you!
This vaca sounds perfect for your family right now. You are lucky to get to do such a thing. Have a great time and soak up the sun!
