More Summer Fun!

Summer in in full force here at our house!
The boys are living it up, as are the hubby and I.
Here's a few of the latest.
* My parents kidnapped the boys for some fun this past weekend.
Based on the pics we received
and the fact that 2 out of 4 boys immediately asking if they could stay another night,
I'd say they had a blast.
Those boys love their Mimi and Grandaddy!
 Trysten in character as always.
 Goodtimes!

* While the boys were away,
Ryan and I went to a vodka and caviar tasting at the place below at Watter's Creek.
I told Ryan to surprise me with something different,
and as always, he delivered.
And after I saw this picture,
I contacted our dermatologist to find out about something I never thought I would consider.
Botox.
Nothing major.
I just want to get rid of the lines on my forehead.
Seriously.
Do you see ANY lines on Ryan's forhead?
No.
Because he's a guy.
Unfair.

* I went to my 20 year high school reunion this past weekend.
Well, I went to the Friday night get together.
There were so many people I didn't remember.
It was good to see some of the girls I used to hang with.

* Speaking of getting old,
Guess who had to get glasses?
Yep.
And not just glasses but progressive lenses.
Otherwise known as bifocals.
I had to get bifocals.
Now, you can't see the line thank goodness,
and I don't have to wear them all the time,
but it's one more reminder that I'm not getting any younger.
Atleast they're cute.
It's hard to tell from the picture, but they are.
Oh, and I can see a lot better now.
Bonus.

That's all for now!
The boys and I are headed to another Hawaiian Falls location tomorrow,
and only 4 days until Ryan and I head off to California!
Have a great week!

Father's Day Weekend 2012

Father's Day Weekend was wonderful!
It was really nice to spend so much quality time with just Ryan, Trysten and I
while my boys celebrated the weekend with their dad.
It doesn't happen very often,
and all the time together allowed for a lot of discussions and most of all bonding.
Trysten's a special little guy.

Father and son did a lot of "guy stuff" throughout the weekend,
and Ryan enjoyed every minute.
We took Trysten to listen to a friend of ours play guitar as part of a local summer concert series.
 I love these 2 guys!
This kid cracks me up.
Warms my heart to see these 2 together.
We hung out at the pool for a bit.

Awesome.
And to round out a great weekend,
Ryan and Trysten enjoyed 18 holes together.
These are 2 handsome men!

Happy Father's Day, Ryan!
You are an incredible father not
only to your son but to my 3 as well.
You have no idea the impact you are having on them every day.
I am continuously blessed to be married
to a man with such integrity
and a love for our family beyond measure.
I love you, Ryan!

Summer Fun!

This below is exactly how I feel right now.
I so heart summer.
Who doesn't?
Lots of summer fun going on around our house!

I've had some time to work on projects for my classroom for next school year.
These letters are for my art word wall.
If I could doodle for a living, I'd apply first thing...yesterday.

We have logged countless hours cooking on The Big Green Egg.
Actually, Ryan has done the cooking.
The rest of our family has done the eating.
Behold baby back ribs.
Now, I'm not a big meat eater at.all. but check these out.
Yum.
Smoked Salmon
Now we're talking my language.
It was delish.
Trysten said it tasted like chicken but loved every bite.
He actually ate leftovers for lunch for 2 days.
On to talapia with pesto sauce.
On The Big Green Egg.
Yes, please.
Every night.
And what are summer dinners without watermelon?
I know, right!?
Summer fun means we are LIVING outdoors.
We have to soak up every moment before the heat is unbearable.
Ryan and I finally broke down and bought the kids a trampoline.
Have you ever watched boys on a trampoline?
It's not for the weak of heart.
Carter and Trysten have been making homes for ants in the backyard.
It's hard for me to get upset when I watch them being so creative.
We discovered this little guy in the backyard the other night.
WTH?
Completely creepy.
His antenna were longer than his body.
Makes you realize how many insects are out there that we have no clue about.
Am I the only nerd that thinks about stuff like this?
We've spent lots of time at the pool.
The boys are all over water balloons again this summer.
This was Trysten's creation.
Ryan took the boys to the races recently at Texas Motor Speedway.
A total boy thing.
I gladly opted out on this excursion.
It was definitely some good male bonding time.
 Talk about great seats!

All the guys had a blast.
I took the little guys to a local water park for some bonding time of my own.
I had the best time with these boys.
Love 'em.
And this one is growing up way too fast.
They each picked out a treat after lunch.
Carter and Trysten chose tubes full of colored sugar.
Awesome.
Preston opted for shaved ice.
This kid is always in character!
Let's see how many times we can ride the same slide over...
and over...
and over.

Kids are the epitome of carefree happiness.

Lots of summer fun!
I hope you are enjoying yours as well!!

Second Annual Ed Soladay Golf Tribute

Welcome to the
Second Annual Ed Soladay Golf Tribute!
We had an amazing turn out Monday
and doubled the amount of money raised for the charity this year.
Hold on for picture overload.
I love the feeling of pulling into the club parking lot and seeing all the carts ready to go.
It really is surreal.
If you look in the upper right hand corner at the flagpole,
you can see the flag the hospital flew the day Ed's organs were donated.
It meant a lot to our family that the club flew it the day of the tournament.
We had some incredible sponsors this year.
Couldn't do the tournament without them!
My parents sponsored the boxed lunches for all the players.
All of our par 3's had prizes thanks to our sponsors!
This sponsor played golf every Saturday morning in the men's group with Ed.
Registration went off without a hitch!

This year we had a paparazzi cart that 2 girls,
daughters of one of Carol's friends,
drove around and took all the pictures.
Checking in to cover last minute details for we begin!
The announcement was made for all players to make their way to their cart.
My handsome husband said a few words.
And head to his cart with my brother.
Since it was a shotgun start,
everyone was lead to their first hole.
And the tournament began!

Carol played with one of the golf pros
and 2 of Ed and Carol's dear friends from New York.

I loved that so many women played!
By next summer I WILL be a golfer as Ryan and I are officially members now!
More on that another time.

Everyone had a great time.

These ladies are part of Carol's Thursday morning group.
Such wonderful women.

The 2 women on the right are from my girl's poker night group.
The First Tee set up on the 9th hole,
Gentle Creek's signature hole.
It really is beautiful.

They brought the same kids out from last year, and they were awesome.
With a donation, players could have them either drive the ball or putt for them.
It was a lot of fun.

Once tournament play was done,
everyone went back to the clubhouse for dinner, awards and live music.

Ryan's group was only 4 over the first place team!
While everyone ate,
Ryan and I made sure the awards and raffle prizes were ready to go.

Ryan played MC.
I am so blessed to be married to such an incredible man.
Award time is always a blast.
One of the guys Ryan used to work with won the iPad for closest to the pin.
One of our big sponsors had the winning raffle ticket 3 times.
She and her husband even ended up winning the obligatory flat screen television!

My beautiful mother
It was a great day...
We love you, Ed...

People stayed on the patio until 10:00 PM.
We had such a great time.

Just like last year,
Ryan and I collapsed in bed
at the end of the day exhausted but happy.
We spent the day with family and friends
celebrating the life of a wonderful man.
It's bittersweet.

We love and miss you every day, Ed.
