Seriously...

One of the things I remember from my teaching courses in college was if the students are engaging in SSR....Sustained Silent Reading...then we should join in and read as well, and if they are writing, then we should do so too....therefore, since my students are writing, I will appropriately utilize this opportunity to vent....let it all out...release my anixety...pout...On the way to drop Carter off at preschool this morning, I am preparing myself for the drama I am assuming will unfold when I walk him into his classroom due to the fact he hasn't been in over 2 weeks. As we're pulling up, Carter says, "Oh, man! Seriously...are you kidding me! Logan isn't here yet, and I miss Logan. It takes him forever to get dressed, so I know he won't be here today!" Okay...he's 4...I love it, and I am laughing to myself. I open my door to get out, and Carter says, "No, Mom! I can walk myself in!" What....Did I hear him correctly? He doesn't NEED me!? I told him that I had to walk him in the front door...so I did...and he turned around and said, "Okay, you can go now. Love you."

I realize my boys are getting older, but Carter is only 4...Where have all the years gone? In 3.5 years, Austin will get a driver's licence, in 5.5 years he'll be leaving for college...Okay...I have to stop there...Wow...I thought you were supposed to feel better when you let it all hang out...I think I feel worse...

I remember the day T said almost the same thing and the feeling of shock thinking the very same thing! Why does it go so fast, I don't get it. More importantly, I don't like it! I feel your pain... keep your head up!
