Greetings From...McKinney...Yes....McKinney

This is a picture of the boys when we first arrived at the airport...excited and anxious...
The flight we were initially supposed to take had been delayed from 2:40 to 4:15...which would put us cutting it VERY close making our connecting flight in Chicago.  Ryan's dad called his travel agent and had us put on standby on a flight originally scheduled to depart at 1:00 PM, but was delayed until 3:30! Yeah! We RAN to the Skylink to go from terminal A to D...

Hold on Carter!
Enjoying the view!

So...we get over to terminal D, gate 23....to say it was packed is an UNDERSTATEMENT!!!!  The flight attendant working the check-in counter at the gate didn't provide us with much hope telling us the flight was most likely full...SERIOUSLY....
The boys waited soooo patiently...I have to say, traveling with "big" kids is SO much easier than the days of hauling around babies, toddlers, strollers, diaper bags and snacks!
As the flight called for final boarding around 3:20, we were paged to the counter with the news that there weren't enough seats, and to top it off, our original flight was delayed further....way past out connecting flight...and another flight out wasn't available until Monday!

We called my parents to see if they could pick us up and take us home because we had NO transportation since we had already turned in the rent car we had due to my wreck last week.

We headed home, kids and parents severely disappointed, but once we arrived at our house, we turned the mood around by inviting my parents in to hangout while Trysten opened the Christmas presents they had sent with us yesterday!

Trysten's hamster cage!

Long story short, we are definitely sad, but Monday morning will be here before we know it...Yes, we will need to leave our house at 3:30 AM, but we ready!  Oh...and that flight we were orinally booked on...STILL HASN'T LEFT DFW AIRPORT AND IT'S 8:00PM!!

SEE YOU SOON, POP & GRANDMA!!!

Christmas Recap!

We were so busy in the days leading up to Christmas, actually preparing for the big day as well as organizing and packing for our family trip to New York!  Here are some pics of all the craziness!

It was girl's night out on Wednesday for me!  Such a great time!

After running errands all day, Ryan took me to dinner at Kobe's Steaks on Christmas Eve regardless of the icy roads! He worked so hard to make Christmas Eve special...surprising me with little gifts through out the day...=)

Fast forward to Christmas at my parents house...We picked my boys up at 1:00 PM on Christmas day, and headed straight out to Southlake to celebrate with my parents, my sister and her family, and my brother and his!  It's always a great time when we get together!

With 9 grandchildren....it gets a little crazy!!

My precious nieces, Ashlynn & Addyson

Moving on to Christmas with my boys...which just took place about 2 hours ago!

Santa brought Carter and Preston some goodies for their guinea pigs which he has waiting for them at Petsmart to pick up after our trip!  Santa even brought a little harness and leash so they can walk their new pets!

Austin organizing all the presents...

The little photo book I made of our adventure to ICE! If you have never made one of these, you should go to Kodak Gallery and check them out.  They are under $10...depending how many pages you include...and they are a perfect way to remember special times!

The sweet letter Austin wrote for Ryan...

Carter's "Fur Real" puppy! It opens and closes its eyes depending on whether it's asleep or awake and makes little noises just like a real puppy! I have a feeling it will be coming to New York with us!

Can you tell they were excited!?

Sweet Carter...

So...tomorrow's the BIG day!  The bags are packed, our ski clothes have been mailed to Pop and Grandma's...Ryan's dad said they have 12 inches of snow!!...the crayons, coloring books, games and movies are ready to go! We're picking up Trysten from his mother's home at 11:00 AM and then heading to DFW to fly to New York for 9 days!  There is so much planned...a few surprises here and there for the boys...It's going to be a blast!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, AND HAVE A GREAT REST OF THE YEAR!!

Trysten's Christmas and Christmas Plans!

To put it nicely...our Christmas plans are ALL over the place this year...the worst part of divorce.  Last year was the first year, since Ryan and I have been together, that we were all together for Christmas Eve and day, and it was extrememly special.  Being together last year means this year...we won't be.  Ryan and I will be alone without children on Christmas Eve, something I have never experienced in the 13+ years I have been a mother.  We have already made plans for a romantic night...which will be incredible as always...it will just be different without the boys there to share the night with...The life saver is knowing that on the day after Christmas, all 6 of us will board an airplane bound for New York!  I CANNOT WAIT!  It will definitely be a family vacation to remember forever!

We chose to celebrate Christmas with Trysten this past Thursday...after making special arrangements with Santa...since the next time we see him is when we scoop him up on the way to the airport.  It was a lot of fun, and my boys were so excited to watch him open all his gifts!  I was very proud of them, because I had prepared myself for rounds of, "That's not fair that he gets to open his presents already!"

The note Santa left Trysten to let him know he can have his hamster when he returns from New York!

Preston and T reading the letter from Santa!

Let the unwrapping begin!  He was moving so fast, the camera couldn't even focus!

The harmonica Trysten asked for!

I'm still not sure whether Ryan bought this helicopter for Trysten or himself! It is really cool!

A Socker Bopper Bop Buddy! Right up Trysten's alley!

The "tight" hat he asked for!

So, Trysten starts opening up the scooter we got him, only isn't wasn't his...It was the one we bought for Carter!  Ryan had wrapped both of them, and I put the tag for Trysten's on Carter's and the tag for Carter's on Trysten's! Oops!

As a result, Carter received an early Christmas present!

Remember the smaller version of these from when we were young!? Coco...I can totally see your Bram loving one of these!

Trysten riding his "tight" scooter! Precious smile!

Merry Christmas, Trysten!
We love you!

ANI Christmas Party!

Friday night was Ryan's office Christmas party at Ocean Club right across the street from the Galleria...beautiful, romantic, swank, hip, d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s.  They had a professional photographer there during cocktails and dinner, but until those pics become available, here are some not-so-professional pics of the partay!

Kristin...one of our close friends...and I
She looks amazing!

Kristin, Kelly...another one of our dear friends...and I
Kelly had a sweet little baby boy about 6 months ago!

Ryan and a couple of great guys from his office, Chris and Blake

Kristin and her hubby, Chris

Josh and Kelly

Love him!

Ryan being goofy and trying to act like he wasn't making faces behind Kristin and I while we attempted to take a pic together!

No a great pic, but this is Ryan receiving his award! So proud of this handsome man!

The "Million Dollar Man" award!  He works so hard and very much deserves the recognition!

Towards the end of the night...after many glasses of wine...Steve started being "Steve" and taking random pics!  Good times!

Please stop!

It's always a great time when the ANI crew gets together...especially since all the "changes"! Lots of good people! Oh, I almost forgot...Ryan and I won a $150.00 American Express gift card at the party!  Play money for our trip to New York which is only 6 days away now!
