New York Family Vacation 2009 {Part Five}

New Year's Day In New York City!

Despite a late night the night before, everyone woke up and packed up, ready for our final fun day in the city!  On the agenda...The American Museum of Natural Science and History.  You knew Carol and I had to throw in an educational adventure in there somewhere!  What an A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. place!  I only wish my feet didn't feel like nails were coming through my heels with every step I took that day after walking all over New York City the day before and trying to wear 3 inch heels on New Years Eve...not smart!

Check this place out!

These dinosaur "topiaries" were made entirely out of Christmas trees!

Right inside the entrance...

These were in all four corner of the atrium. They looked like ginormous candlesticks!

The boys were in awe at how realistic the exhibits were! Look at our little budding photographer...Preston always wants to be the one with the camera. =)

Carol and Trysten...

So much to see!

Austin: "Please get this picture over with." Preston: "I refuse to show my two front teeth." Trysten: "Alli, not another picture!"

The museum was so large that half the time we felt lost.....actually half the time we were lost! Carol and I just laughed!

Preston taking more pictures!

I love watching their face light up when they learn something new!

Okay....I had to include this because it is quite possibly the grossest thing I have EVER seen....This female frog carries her eggs on her back, and her babies hatch leaving little holes all over! D.I.S.G.U.S.T.I.N.G....and we thought we had it bad!

On to prettier things...this tree was COVERED in oragami animals! It was beautiful...and huge!

Once we left the museum, we had just enough time to eat some lunch and head to the train station!
Patiently waiting for their food....and driving the adults crazy!

Carter and Ryan =)

Silly, Carter!

Look at these portion sizes! We had enough food to feed all of New York!

Saying goodbye to New York City....

The train ride back was a lot quiter than the ride to...

What an amazing day....
