Pumpkin Topiary!

I decided to change out the contents of the urns on
either side of our front door today because...
I wanted a project.
I know.
I have an illness.
I am seriously addicted at this point.

Here is the BEFORE:
Once I threw out all the old plantings,
I started to paint the 4 white pumpkins
I bought from Market Street.
I decided I would monogram the smaller ones.
I placed a template on the little white guys, and traced around the "S".
Then I painted in the lines with black acrylic paint.
Easy.
The boys and I added polka dots to the larger ones using a round sponge brush.
While the paint dried, I took some grapevine garland
I already had on hand and decided to incorporate it into the project.
Using wire cutters, I cut the garland in to the desired lengths
and coiled it until it made sort of a nest for the pumpkins to rest on:
I then added the larger pumpkin:
In order to add some interest and give
the smaller pumpkin a base
to rest on, I added a smaller coil of the grapevine:
I used a twisty tie to secure the garland:
 The finished product!
For the right side of the door:
Annnnnnnnnd the left:
Happy Friday, friends!
Looking forward
to a weekend of family fun!!

Wasted Space

Can I just tell you how much I hate
the space above my kitchen cabinets?
It's wasted space.
Why not extend them all the way to the ceiling?
Don't get me wrong.
I love my cabinets.
I would love them even more if they were
painted and glazed...in the future, my friends.
I just don't love the space between the top of the cabinets and the ceiling.
The reason:
It is so hard to accessorize all that open air.
Nothing, looks bare.
Too much, looks cluttered.
I have been on the hunt for simple additions for the space,
and I came across this "S"
at Marshall's on clearance ($10.00).
Score.
The color was all wrong.
Solution:
Spray paint.
Easy.
The solution.
Not me.
I'm not easy.
I love easy.

The Whole Kit & Caboodle

I have written several posts lately with bits and pieces of our Halloween decor,
but now that our house is in full FRIGHT mode,
I thought I would condense all our
gear into one lone post.
The whole kit and caboodle.
Make sense?
(I apologize in advance for forcing you to view some images again...
It's one of those "I want to have it all in one spot" things.)
And herrrrrrrrrre we go.

The mantle:
Remember the chalkboard I made from an old mirror
I purchased at a consignment store?
Looky:
Did you notice the little guy on top guarding the skulls?
No spot is off limits!
Cute little ghost
Spiders everywhere!
I Halloweened...just made that word up...the wreath on the front door.
Easy.
And werrrrrrrrre done!
I heart Halloween!
