Takin' it to the Park

I.am.loving.the.spring.weather.

It makes me want to be outside...In fact, I almost took my students outside to work today, but we were finishing something that would have been difficult to complete in the windy conditions as of late.  Instead, I decided we needed a family picnic, and being the southern gal that I am, I couldn't help but immediately think of
fried chicken when I thought of a picnic.

I emailed Coco and Casey...since they are the recipe queens...and asked for a good fried chicken recipe since I haven't fried ANYTHING in years...it's just not PC anymore, you know.  Coco said her hubby was the friyin' fool and suggested picking up KFC and making a wonderful pasta salad, and Casey...well, she told me to try some oven fried chicken...such a good mom.  With time NOT on my side, I was forced to forgo making the pasta salad (recipe stored for later use) since I didn't have the fresh ingredients on hand, and I opted for some homemade fried chicken instead.  I was forced to used my memory as the recipe:

The assembly line
Eggs and Tabasco sauce...good stuff
Don't forget to double dip!
Ya, baby!
Yum...
Takin' it to the park!
Slow down, dude!
Time for some fun!

Does it get any better?
I think not, my friends!!!

Looks delish! There is something about genuine fried chicken that is so worth the effort. Kudos.

Loving the time outside, too!

Wow!! You are seriously impressive!

That chicken looks like it was finger lickin' good!

I should take my family on a picnic soon, before it gets too hot. Thanks for the idea. =)

Hagen and I did a picnic the other night. BUT we got macdonalds happy meals, backed the Pilot into a space by the beachclub overlooking the "lake" and ate in the back. he loved it!

I remember during the winter when he was 1 1/2 or so it was cold and rainy...Ryan was hunting...so we went to get breakfast burritos and had a picnic in the car in the same spot. he LOVED it! he sat in the front seat and ate his burrito.

Your chicken looks WONDERFUL!! Ive never tried to fry anything...I'm scared to!
