Randomness

1. Am I the only one who is looking forward to the normalcy of the school year to start? Don't get me wrong. Mama loves me some summer, but I am ready to get back into a routine. I can only do "no schedule" living for so long.

2. I was at Hobby Lobby the other day, and Christmas decor is up in full force. WTH?! Really? Could we get through fall first? Seeing all the pumpkins, scarecrows, and little bundles of hay did get me excited though. I can't wait to decorate for fall this year with our front porch.

3. I have been to the dentist office so much lately that when I walk in, the whole front office says, "Hey, you again." Stage 1 of braces began Tuesday. Preston and Austin had the spacers put in, and "The Teenager" proceeded to take one out after being home for an hour or so because "It hurt so bad." Uh...hello. It's supposed to hurt. IT'S MOVING YOUR TEETH TO MAKE WAY FOR BRACES. Can you tell I am a little irritated with him at the moment?

4. Speaking of irritated, "The Teenager" had a friend spend the night on Monday and Tuesday, and he is no longer allowed to come back. I spent a few minutes standing outside Austin's door late Tuesday night listening to them talk while they were playing a video game, and I was shocked at some of the things being said. Wow. That kid had some choice words to say. I opened up the door, gave Austin "the look", and closed it leaving Austin to stew over what the consequences would be in the morning. He was already in trouble for running down the stairs and yelling while I was trying to have a phone conversation. Needless to say, it's going to be a long, lonely weekend for my child in his room.

5. My boys are at their dad's until tomorrow, so it's just Trysten and I hanging out today. He has already requested a meatball sub for lunch, so meatballs it is. Sweet boy. He's also going with me to run errands...which he hates....and to an appointment with a new customer who has a pool...which will make up for the errands he will have to endure.

6. It feels so weird not having to attend staff developments and prepping a classroom for 26 new students. Weird, but good.

7. The golf cart is being painted and seats changed to black as we speak, and should be home by late tomorrow. Stay tuned for pics. The boys...which includes Ryan...are so excited!

Happy Thursday, my friends!!

I can't stand when they put Christmas out so soon! Disrespectful!
--Braces = sucks
--I would be the same way with that friend who came over. As my Dad always told me and I've told my nieces and nephew
"You are who you hang around"..

HA! My parents always said the exact same thing, Dee. So very true.

I have a feeling you're in for a hell of a year with "The Teenager". Good luck, my friend.

I hate how fall and Thanksgiving always get trampled on by Christmas. What is it with stores? Can't they wait just a few more months?!
-Yuck on the braces for sure!
-Glad you are being a proactive parent and paying attention to who your son hangs around with. Most parents these days seem like they could care less! Good luck with all the attitude and hormones from "The Teenager", he will thank ya someday for looking out for him!

Reading this post just made me have a pang in my stomach for when Missy Mack is a teenager. Oh, how I dread this. I would love for you to do a post about your methods of survival.

I remember being really shocked and amazed last year at Hobby Lobby with Christmas up in June. I hate it, but I have to admit that my mom and I cruised the Christmas stuff the last time we went. It felt crazy.

I love the moments you get to spend with just you and a special kid.

I know I don't know you, but I seriously am cussing you under my breath as you don't have to sit through staff development this year. I am dreading next week so badly. I am throwing on the brakes for summer so badly.

Oh how I've missed you! I'm slowly but surely catchin' up with my old blogger buddies!

Okay...since I've been gone, you'll have to tell me why you won't be preparing your classroom. Did you make a career change or are you now labeled as a "special" teacher?

Ok...the thought of seeing Christmas decorations at ANY store has me sick to my stomach. Shopping for peeps sends me straight to a bar every time..

I'm not looking forward to the teenage years! I know I have a ways to go, but still dreading it! I can't wait to see pics of the golf cart, sounds like so much fun! I would probably get in so much trouble with one of those ;)
