Check It Out

Not much other than school, homework,
baseball, basketball and life going on here.
Drama free is a good way to be.

Check it out:

* I washed "The Teenager's"
cell phone yesterday.

Hello!
Once you put your clothes in the dirty clothes basket,
it's free game for the washing machine.
No, I don't look through his pockets.
He's 14.
We usually don't do laundry during the week, so I was all out of sorts.
Life goes on.
It's just a phone.
Guess Austin will be using one of our old phones for awhile.

* Look what Ryan surprised me with yesterday:
Yeah!
Now we can continue to enjoy our
patio even as the temps get a little cooler.
I have mentioned how nice it would be to have one,
and I guess he was listening.
He does that a lot.
Listens.
It's a miraculous quality for a man.
There's a mom whose son is on
Carter's baseball team, and she has this watch I love:
I had mentioned it to Ryan,
and a few weeks ago we were in Nordy's,
and he told me to pick out the one I wanted.
Kind of a belated anniversary gift I guess.
Hang in with me,
there's a point to this story.
They had sold the last one pictured above,
so Ryan picked out this one for me:

Looooove it.
Fast forward to Carter's baseball game this past Saturday.
I showed my friend my new watch,
and after the game, her hubby stopped
Ryan and I and asked where he bought it.
He said he needed an idea for a Christmas gift for his wife but didn't want to ask her.
I like his style.
He will score major brownie points in the husband department on December 25th.
Long story short,
when hubbies need gift giving ideas for their wives,
all they have to do is listen.
We're so easy.
it doesn't even have to be extravagant
or cost a lot of money.
In fact, the best gifts
are those that come from the heart.

* "The Teenager" has a new "girlfriend".
She's very sweet and polite.
She's also a head taller than him.
At least.
Doesn't seem to bother either of them.
Her name is Chloe.
She came over after school yesterday,
and Carter apparently thought she was there
to play with him.
Austin is getting to the age where he says things like,
"Mom, make the boys go in the other room."
Every day is a new experience with a teenager.
One day at a time, my friends.

* We're having family pics done this weekend.
Our photographer, which happens to be the sister
of a sweet girl I taught with the last 2 years, Amanda,
recommended downtown McKinney for our location.
Since Ryan and I love downtown, it sounded perfect.
Now, I cannot figure out what we should wear.
Suggestions?

* I wish Carter and Preston would quit fighting.
That's it.
I just wish they would stop.

Okay...
I'm going to stop rambling and go do something productive.
Happy hump day!

I haven't washed a phone yet, but I have washed 2 Ipods from ski season. Tucked away in Carter's snowboarding pants. Nice.

Great gifts! These blinged out watches are everywhere! And, the Michaels Khors version? Awesome.

Michael and I typically don't exchange gifts...we go on a trip or something...but when we do...I drop hints like crazy...and nada.
you hubs has got it going on! ;)

I don't drop hints. I just send him pictures and/or links as to what I want. Hints + Trey don't always work. I have to take the direct route. :)
Love that watch!!

I tell Trey the same thing all the time - once you put it in the hamper - it's fair game! I hate checking pockets and spotting stuff. If you spill sauce on your shirt, take it to the laundry room and put some Shout on it. Don't put it in the hamper and let it sit for 3 days. Ugh. I hate laundry. Okay, I'm finished.
